Hearing Loss Champions (HLC)

Hearing Loss Champions are existing members of staff who ideally have lived experience of hearing loss and actively share learning from the training, network meetings and bulletins with colleagues

The HLC role is to promote the wellbeing of people with hearing loss who are using or working within their organisation ensuring the service is appropriate and accessible

The aims of HLC are to:

• Improve the experience of people who have hearing loss when they are accessing services or employed within the organisation
• Increase integration between services and share best practice

The benefits of having Hearing Loss Champions within your organisation:
• Publicly demonstrate your integrity and commitment to improving access for all
• Improve customer and staff loyalty and feedback
• Support compliance with the Equalities Act 2010 (and NHS Accessible Information Standard where applicable)
• Networking opportunities with DMCIC to share best practice
• The ongoing support of DMCIC and partner organisations for training, information, guidance and advice
